Barcelona to face Real Madrid in Supercopa final

In the Spanish Supercopa semifinals on Thursday night, Barcelona defeated Osasuna 2-0 to set up a delicious Clasico final versus Real Madrid.

Barcelona was able to relieve some of the strain on Xavi, who had had a lackluster start to the La Liga season, by bringing midfielder Pedri back to the bench.

Sergio Herrera made a great stop to deny the Catalans, who were in control of the game as they dominated possession in Riyadh. Raphinha’s injury forced him to be replaced before the first half ended, adding to the frustration.

Lewandowski broke the deadlock in the second half, eventually reaching double figures for the season, with a brilliant assist from Ilkay Gundogan.

Osasuna argued that Frenkie De Jong had fouled during the build-up, but their arguments were turned down.

Joao Felix did well, setting up Lamine Yamal for a superb late second goal for the Blaugrana.

Following Los Blancos’ 5-3 triumph over Atletico Madrid in extra time on Wednesday night, Barcelona and Real Madrid will compete for the championship on Sunday.
