Barcelona interested in Marco Veratti

Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona may once more have their sights set on 31-year-old former Paris Saint-Germain legend Marco Veratti.

The Italian midfielder has long been admired by the Catalans, who had made a move for him in the 2017 transfer window. Barcelona thought they were close to a deal at the time since they had previously reached a personal agreement with Veratti, who was also eager to leave the French city.

Les Parisiens, however, flatly refused to entertain any kind of trade for their player, even if it meant losing out to Barcelona and Veratti. A predicament that only got worse when PSG intervened and took Barcelona’s 31-year-old forward, Neymar, during the same transfer window.

Barcelona expressed interest in signing their last target, Veratti, when he was free to leave PSG last summer, but PSG once again refused to negotiate. Eventually, the midfield player relocated to the Qatari division, where he is currently employed by Al-Arabi.

Barcelona could be interested in making a move for the elusive midfield player now that PSG is not in their way. are believed to be worried about his big salary and the potential level of football performance he has been performing for the previous season.
