A recent study by researchers at Harvard and the University of East Anglia found that men who regularly drank red wine and ate a lot of citrus fruits and berries, like pears, apples, blueberries, and strawberries, had a lower risk of developing erectile dysfunction. The study was conducted over a 30-year period.

Researchers discovered that consuming just three or four servings or glasses of food and drink high in flavonoids could lower the risk of the issue by as much as 21%.

“This is the first study to look at the association between flavonoids and erectile dysfunction, which affects up to half of all middle-aged and older men,” said lead researcher, Professor Aedin Cassidy. “Men who regularly consumed foods high in these flavonoids were less likely to suffer erectile dysfunction. In terms of quantities, we’re talking just a few portions a week.”
