Barcelona’s desired midfielder is prepared to switch to a new league from the Bundesliga

Joshua Kimmich, a midfield target for Barcelona, is reportedly very interested in leaving Bayern Munich and hopes to play in a different league, according to journalist Kerry Hau’s report via Sport1 (via SPOX).

We revealed a few days ago that Kimmich is free to try new things since Bayern Munich is actively pursuing Martin Zubimendi, another star in La Liga.

Nevertheless, it should be mentioned that his Bayern contract expires in 2025; thus, even if Barcelona makes a summer attempt to sign him, a transfer price will still be needed.

Tuchel does not see him as an ideal fit

It is being reported that Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel and Kimmich happen to have a clear conflict of interest. The German international considers himself as a defensive midfielder, but his manager thinks otherwise and this is why Bayern are now actively chasing Zubimendi.

As for Kimmich, he is contemplating a move abroad and is genuinely intrigued by the prospect of transferring to a big club and is open to the idea.

Now, recent speculation has linked Kimmich to Barcelona, with coach Xavi reportedly expressing keen interest in the versatile player.

It is said that the two had a meeting at the World Cup in Qatar at the end of 2022 which fueled these rumours. Additionally, it is also reported that Premier League champions Manchester City are also interested and these links stem from Pep Guardiola’s high admiration for the player.

Player has his differences as well

A few days back, we reported that the reason why Kimmich is willing to move away from Bayern has nothing to do with the finances. On the contrary, he wants to move away as he is not aligned with the team’s project.
